"I like to rhyme, and tend to use strong lyrical rhythm. I play with the structure for ages, and even then I am not always satisfied. Sometimes I just have fun, or describe, or laugh, and sometimes I like to combine a really serious idea with very traditional rhyme. I like the contrast."

Deliver rendition

In couplet tradition

Unknown by the media

Unloved but not bitter

Past my life sell by date

Written decades too late

To be heard in a slam

Or a poetry jam

But I make no apology

For my rhymed poetology

More compulsive than fiction

Rhyming is an addiction

Where the words build with tension

By exploiting convention
